Casualties of War, Funny, MMOs, Public Quests, Warhammer Online
  • Nerfbat takes on The Fatal Flaw in Public Quests — critical mass. Too few players you can’t complete the quest, too many and it’s a pushover. I have to agree. I love Public Quests. In beta there always seemed to be enough people around to finish one. Esri, my level 16 White Lion, has not completed a Public Quest since mid-Tier 1. Either I out leveled the masses during my vacation, or they out leveled me! I can still farm influence and get the Influence rewards, but haven’t seen a loot bag in ages.
  • Rock, Paper, Shotgun has an article on Mythic’s “other” project — an expansion for Ultima Online.
  • Stylish Corpse reports that goldsellers have already invaded WAR. I haven’t heard from them personally yet, but a number of CoWs have mentioned getting tells and spam mail from them.
  • Warhammer Online article in The Washington Post.
  • Scarybooster attempts some nude Tome unlocks on The Order of Destruction
  • The Book of Grudges reports on the dubiously impressive achievement of the first players to reach rank 40 in Warhammer Online.

Thanks for the mention AND all those other links, Esri. My blog-reading has exploded and then some since CoW came along. My Reader screams for mercy every morning. ;)

Special mention to Disciple of the Easily Distracted as a great title. As one of the Easily Distracted, I empathise.

Eh, no reason you can’t get a group together to do it. The assumption seems to be that there should be no effort involved; but even 3 people can do most pq stage 3 (though it takes a long time)
